Didcot, UK – 16 June, 2026 – Didcot Runners has announced the return of the Didcot 5, its flagship charity race and fun run, taking place on Sunday, 5th July 2026. Following a sell-out success in 2025, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever - bringing the community together for a morning of fitness, fun and fundraising in support of two vital local causes.
The Didcot 5 centres on a flat and fast five-mile road race, ideal for first-time racers and seasoned runners alike. The two-mile fun run is open to participants of all ages and abilities, making it the perfect introduction to competitive running for younger or less experienced participants.
Proceeds from the Didcot 5 will be donated directly to Earth Trust, a charity dedicated to inspiring people to address climate, biodiversity and wellbeing with the power of natural green spaces, and Didcot Emergency Foodbank, a community-based initiative providing short term relief to people in crisis across Didcot and the surrounding villages. The event is sponsored by Specsavers Didcot and Perpetual Childcare, an Ofsted-registered childminding provider serving families across Didcot since 2006.
"The Didcot 5 is a real highlight of our calendar, and we were absolutely delighted to sell out last year," said Sarah Rogers, Chair of Didcot Runners. "It's not just about the running; it's about bringing the community together to support two incredible organisations that are so vital to Didcot. The event offers something for everyone, from seasoned athletes chasing personal bests to newcomers looking for a fun and rewarding challenge. We're proud to support the invaluable work of Earth Trust and Didcot Emergency Foodbank, and we can't wait to see runners of all abilities come together to make a real difference."
Organised by Didcot Runners, the race is supported by Didcot Town Council, Didcot Town Football Club, Rowse, Tesco and The Fitness Experts. Race HQ is at Willowbrook Leisure Centre, Bowmont Water, just a short walk from Didcot train station.
